Using Salesforce with Alpha Anywhere

Presented by:
David Perry and John Bowen,
FirmSupport Software

Overview:
While Salesforce has become the dominant online SaaS CRM player in the market, building elegant and streamlined custom applications in Salesforce is difficult and time consuming. But, using Alpha Anywhere, developers can quickly build sophisticated web and mobile apps that work with Salesforce data.

Additionally, many companies may want to connect other outside data sources to Salesforce. Alpha Anywhere applications can be configured to interface with both Salesforce and non-Salesforce data, making Alpha Anywhere the connector between all of your data sources. And, the inverse is true, with many companies using Salesforce as their enterprise management software where their users live full time. Using Alpha Anywhere, non-Salesforce apps can be made accessible to users as an application inside of Salesforce.

In this webinar; David Perry and John Bowen of FirmSupport Software will discuss how to use Alpha Anywhere to access and communicate with your Salesforce data.

Cybersecurity in Mobile Computing: The 5 Deadliest Sins

Watch now →

Presented by:
Jeff Kalwerisky,
VP Information Security and Technical Training,
CPEInteractive, Inc.

Overview:
The name of the game is mobility. Every industry wants—and needs!—the capability for employees and executives to conduct business operations wherever they want with full access to the most up-to-date business information. The smartphone and the tablet computer are the preferred vehicles for remote real-time interaction with sensitive corporate systems in every industry.

This revolution is already well under way as business units discover the advantages of mobile apps. These include faster reaction to business needs; closer interactions with customers and end users; availability of current information where and when it is needed; innovative customer self-service portals; and more.

Unfortunately, associated with these advantages come substantial business risks: to the mobile devices themselves, to the underlying data, and to the back-end databases to which they connect. The trend towards employee-owned mobile devices (BYOD) exacerbates the dangers. Unsurprisingly, recent surveys of corporate executives from many different industries consistently indicate that their #1 concern is information security (or lack thereof), relating to the deployment of mobile devices,

This short Webinar looks at several of the major things that can go wrong, and the mistakes that cause them, if mobile computing isn't adequately planned and secured. But, rather than just sowing fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD), Jeff will offer pragmatic solutions to mitigate or avoid the security risks.

Show and Tell Design and Development: A New Way to Get the Apps You or Your Client Want

Presented by:
Mark Gibbs,
NetworkWorld Columnist,
IT Industry Consultant and Journalist,
Co-Founder Novell UK and Netratings, Inc.

Overview:
"Fuzzy business objectives, out-of-sync stakeholders, and excessive rework mean that 75% of project participants lack confidence that their projects will succeed" and "A truly stunning 78% of respondents reported that the business is usually or always out of sync with project requirements." Those are two of the conclusions from a 2011 survey of 600 people involved with application development conducted by Geneca, a software development company. And since 2011, little has changed.

In common with many similar surveys the Geneca study underlined the problems that challenge every organization developing software: Poor communication and unfounded expectations.

If only stakeholders could explain what they need and developers could communicate their understanding of those needs...if only there were some way, some techniques and tools that could bridge the yawning chasm of misunderstanding that so often derails software projects and results in applications that are late, over budget, and underperforming...

Actually, there is a way and it's really pretty simple; it's called "Show and Tell Design and Development."

In this webinar we'll discuss the methodology of Show and Tell Design and Development and demonstrate techniques and tools that make building understanding and consensus both simple and effective.
